Trees Removed at Goodwill Park
Tree crews from "Tree Tech" and a crew from the Holliston Highway Department were spotted cutting down the top portions of 5 trees at Goodwill Park on Green Street Monday morning. As of a last week, nearly all of the trees in the park were marked with ribbons to "stay," be "transplanted" or "cut."
This is progress - change may be hard but the town's kids need a place to play. Leaving it as it is does not address the play needs of all of kids and does not make it accessible. A new park and a new vision are needed. Kudos to the citizens that have stepped up to provide that for all of our kids.

I have heard that these trees were sick, but there are plans to remove most of the rest of the trees in the playground to make way for a parking lot. The current plan is to plant new trees, but if they look anything like the "sticks" that were planted downtown on Washington Street, it will be many, many years, before there is any shade in Goodwill Park.

Yes - It's progress when dead and diseased trees are removed for the safety of our kids. By what I've been reading, more trees are being planted than are being removed.

So they call this progress?
